How to Send Money with Interac e-Transfer

To send an Interac e-Transfer, you and the recipient must each have:

  • An account with a participating bank or credit union
  • An active email address or mobile phone number

Instructions:

  1. Log into your online or mobile banking app and select your account.
  2. Choose or add the recipient’s email or mobile number (use [email protected]).
  3. Enter the amount you wish to send and set a security question (this step is unnecessary if the recipient has registered for Interac e-Transfer® Autodeposit).

Important: Ensure that you safely share the security answer with your recipient. To enhance security and ease of transaction, have your recipient register for Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit.

Security Tip: Make sure your security answer is not obvious, and do not include it in the Interac e-Transfer email notification message.
